I was asked to write the music for this PBS special on C.S. Lewis. Of course I was honored, as I'm a huge fan of his writing. The project was rather tricky, as he is a very varied nuanced writer, and the film reflected this. So each piece had to not only fit the pacing, but the tone of the dialogue. It shifts from introspective to whimsy in a heartbeat, much the same as the writing of Mr. Lewis. The perimeters of composing for projects like this can be daunting.
I was aided in many of the arrangements by my friend Brian Brill
who's talents are generous and mature, and helped to make sure that
